Biographical Note for PFEIFFERELLA

Pfeif·fer \ˈpfī-fər\ , Richard Friedrich Johannes (1858–1945), German bacteriologist. An assistant of the renowned bacteriologist Robert Koch, Pfeiffer discovered the bacillus of the genus Haemophilus (H. influenzae) which was once thought to be the causative agent of influenza and is now known as Pfeiffer's bacillus.
